SMSTS Mock Test is a practice site for the SMSTS and SMSTS-R exams. This page sets out what it is not and the limits of practice. It forms part of our Terms of Use.

1. Practice and information only

Everything on this site is for revision and general information. The mocks, drills and guides help you prepare for the exam at the end of the course. They do not replace the course, its publications or what your trainer tells you.

2. We are not CITB

SMSTS Mock Test is independent. We are not part of, connected with, approved by or paid by CITB (the Construction Industry Training Board), which runs the Site Safety Plus scheme and sets the SMSTS and SMSTS-R exam rules. We use CITB's name only to say which exams our practice is for. Nothing on this site is official CITB material.

3. These are not real CITB questions

Our questions are written by the SMSTS Mock Test Team, in our own words. Our mocks contain no real or old CITB exam questions. CITB's quality rules say current and old papers must not be used as mocks.

4. No guarantee of a pass

A pass on our mock does not mean you will pass the real exam. Your result depends on your preparation and on the paper CITB selects. We cannot guarantee a pass in the SMSTS or SMSTS-R exam.

5. Not health and safety advice

The site helps you revise for an exam. It is not safety advice for a real job. On site, follow your induction, the risk assessment and method statement for the work, your employer's instructions and the law. For official guidance, go to the Health and Safety Executive at hse.gov.uk.

6. We do not sell courses or certificates

We do not run, sell or book the SMSTS or SMSTS-R course, its exam or a re-sit, and we do not issue certificates or cards. Courses are run by training providers.

7. Facts can change

CITB can change its scheme rules, and the law and HSE guidance change too. Our exam facts were checked against CITB's scheme rules on 25 October 2026, and the question bank was last reviewed on 7 November 2026. A page may still be out of date between checks. Confirm course and exam details with your training provider.

We link to CITB, CSCS, HSE, legislation.gov.uk and other sites so you can check the source. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they publish.

9. Limits on our liability

We work to keep the site accurate, but we provide it for revision and cannot accept responsibility for losses caused by relying on it, such as a failed exam or a re-sit fee. This does not limit anything the law does not allow us to limit. Our full liability terms are in section 12 of our Terms of Use.
